HICKORY – St. Stephens High head baseball coach Adam Windham has scheduled the 2017 Indian Baseball Camp at the school for July 10-13.

The camp is open to rising second through ninth graders, and the cost is $50. Check payments for the camp should be made out to St. Stephens High School and can be mailed to Windham at 3205 34th St. Drive NE, Hickory, 28601.

The daily sessions are from 8:30 a.m. to noon at St. Stephens.

Equipment needs are athletic shoes, cleats, baseball pants, a t-shirt, a hat, equipment (glove, bat, catcher’s gear, etc.). Also bring a water bottle as water coolers will be available.

Camp goals are to emphasize proper fundamentals in all areas of the game: hitting, throwing and individual position play.

The coaching staff includes Windham and these Indians coaches – Murphy Post (varsity assistant), Eric Isenhour (head junior varsity coach) and Jonathan Wyant (assistant coach). Former and current St. Stephens players will also work the camp.

If rain becomes a factor, the camp will move from the on-campus baseball facility to the school’s gym. Participants should bring tennis shoes for those sessions.

Campers need to complete an application form and parents need to sign a release form to attend the camp.

For more information on those forms and the camp in general, contact Windham at (828) 256-9841, ext. 376103 or by email at adam_windham@catawbaschools.net.
