HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: Hickory girls to play fundraising tournament

HICKORY – Hickory High’s girls’ golf team has scheduled a tournament fundraiser for Wednesday at the Lake Hickory Country Club Town Course with an 8:30 a.m. start.

The team is seeking donations and/or pledges per hole.

Each member of the Red Tornadoes will play as many holes as possible in order to raise funds, a press release from the Hickory Public Schools said.

Half of the tournament earnings will be donated to Safe Harbor Rescue Mission, a non-profit organization in Hickory, and the other half will be used to benefit the HHS girls’ golf team.

Donations can be made as a one-time check — written to Hickory High with a memo note of HHS Girls Golf Charity Event — or paid by cash.

Potential donors can sponsor a team member by pledging a certain amount per hole times the number of holes that player plays at the tournament.
