Hibriten High running back McKinley (Gee) Witherspoon — who finished as the Panthers’ all-time leading rusher with 5,166 yards and as their all-time leading scorer with 102 touchdowns — has signed to play football at Elon University. His unofficial senior rushing totals were 122 carries for 2,009 yards and 41 rushing TDS, following junior totals of 2,053 rushing yards with 37 rushing scores as Hibriten won a state title.
