DEAL
Called on early in Sunday’s game, Hayden Deal pitched two-plus innings in the Mississippi Braves’ 7-1 loss at Rocket City (Ala.).
Deal came in with two outs in the first inning and pitched 2 1/3 innings against the Trash Pandas, giving three hits, one run (earned), walking none and striking out one. The Braves then used four pitchers after Deal.

He threw strikes on 23 of 34 pitches to 10 batters before a crowd of 4,934, dropping his record to 2-1 with an ERA of 2.88 in 16 games with 35 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings.
Deal, a left-hander from Bandys High, is 22-16 a pro with a 3.10 ERA in 103 games with 315 strikeouts in 351 1/3 innings.
The Braves (26-31) are in last place in the four-team Southern League South Division, a half-game behind third-place Montgomery (Ala.), one game back of second-place Biloxi (Miss.). and 4 1/2 games behind division-leading Pensacola (Fla.).
Mississippi is off Monday and begins a six-game home series against Birmingham (Ala.) on Tuesday night.
