Former Bandys High left-hander Hayden Deal worked four innings on Tuesday night in a 10-6 win by the Mississippi Braves over Biloxi, Miss. on the road.
Deal, who faced 21 batters and threw strikes on 47 of his 81 pitches, did not gain a decision in his sixth start of the season for the Double-A Braves.
He is 1-2 this season with 22 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings.
Deal gave up six hits and two runs (both earned) and he walked three and struck out three.
He has now pitched in 70 pro games since being signed as a free agent by the Atlanta Braves. He has 233 strikeouts in 255 1/3 innings pitched.
The series continues tonight in Biloxi.
The Braves are 16-15 and in second place in the Double-A East South standings, three game behind division-leading Pensacola (Fla.).
Deal’s seventh start of the year will depend on whether the Braves use a five or six-man rotation.
