EAST-WEST GIRLS BASKETBALL: West rolls past East, wins by 14 points

GREENSBORO – Jazmin Harris of Eastern Guilford High posted a double-double – scoring 19 points plus adding a team-high 11 rebounds — as the West topped the East 95-81 on Monday night in the East-West All-Star girls’ basketball game.

Harris led four West players in double figures with her team winning by 14 points after leading by six (45-39) at halftime at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Journey Muhammad of Ardrey Kell had 20 points for the West while Jo Snow of Mount Airy added 14 and Rinnah Green of Hickory Ridge had 11.

Azariah Fields of Wilmington New Hanover scored 20 to spark the East with Elana Ingram of Roxboro Community School adding 11 points and Jada McMillian of Southeast Raleigh and Hunter West of South Lenoir each scoring 10 points.

There were no girls’ players in the game from the South Fork 2A, Northwestern Foothills 2A and Northwestern 3A-4A but Hickory’s Barbara Helms was the assistant coach for the West team.
