HICKORY – Collecting 12 hits, with seven of those for extra bases, the Hickory Crawdads grabbed a South Atlantic League (SAL) victory over Lexington (Ky.) on Sunday afternoon at L.P. Frans Stadium.
A crowd of 1,225 saw the Crawdads win 7-5 behind home runs by Alex Kowalczyk, his fifth of the season, and Blaine Prescott, his third.
Kowalczyk hit his home run, a solo short, in the fourth inning while Prescott hit a two-run shot in the eighth inning.
The finale of a four-game series against the Legends is scheduled Monday at 6 p.m. at Frans.
