CRAWDADS: After a rainout, they’ll play 2 in Greensboro with 11:30 a.m. start

GREENSBORO – The Crawdads and Grasshoppers will get an early start on Wednesday after their South Atlantic League (SAL) baseball game on Tuesday night was rained out.

Hickory and Greensboro will play twice on Wednesday, with the first game at 11:30 a.m., as the SAL’s first-half winds down.

The Crawdads play at Greensboro on Thursday, then head to Lakewood, N.J., to close out the first half.

The SAL All-Star Game is Tuesday night in Columbia, S.C.

Hickory is 25-39 and 12 ½ games behind Hagerstown (Md.) in the chase for a first-half Northern Division title.

Greensboro is 35-27 and still alive in the Northern Division chase, sitting 1 ½ games back of Hagerstown heading into Wednesday’s home doubleheader.
