CRAWDADS: Kannapolis needs 11 innings to close series with victory

HICKORY – Joel Booker and Jameson Fisher had run-scoring hits in the 11th inning on Wednesday that lifted Kannapolis past Hickory 6-4 in South Atlantic League (SAL) baseball.

Booker went 2-for-6 with two RBIs, Brandon Dulin had three hits, Micker Adolfo had two and Zach Remillard hit a home run as the Intimidators won the final game of a series at L.P. Frans Stadium.

Kannapolis (28-23) broke a 3-all tie with three runs in the 11th inning of a morning game (10:31 a.m. start) that took 3 ½ hours to complete.

Remillard’s third home run of the season, a solo shot, came in the seventh inning for Kannapolis.

Leody Taveras, Yanio Perez and Carlos Garay each had two hits for the Crawdads (20-33), who also got a two-run home run in the ninth inning from Ricardo Valencia, his third of the season.

Kevin Escobar worked one inning in relief and got a pitching win and Victor Diaz, also throwing one inning, earned his first save of the season.

Jacob Lemoine took the loss in relief for Hickory after going two innings. He gave up three hits, three runs (all earned), walked two and struck out one.

Crawdads starter Edgar Arredondo threw six innings and gave up four hits, two runs (one earned) with no walks and six strikeouts.
