Former Lenoir-Rhyne University head football coach Mike Kellar has been named head football coach at Glenville State College in West Virginia, where he played quarterback.

He was the starting quarterback at Glenville State in 1989.

Kellar was offensive coordinator last season at West Liberty.

He was fired at LRU after two seasons, 2016 and 2017. The Bears were 5-9 in South Atlantic Conference (SAC) games under Kellar and 6-15 overall.

Kellar came to LRU after four seasons as head coach at California (Pa.), replacing Ian Shields, who left after two seasons to become head coach at Jacksonville (Fla.) University.
