HICKORY – Catawba Valley Community College (CVCC) has added former Butler High star Alexanderia “Alli” Dowe to its volleyball team for next season.
The addition of Dowe was announced via the school on Friday in a press release.
“Alli is a strong late addition to our roster,” CVCC head volleyball coach Shannon Hudson said in the release. “I fell in love with her encouraging bright personality right when we met, and I knew that she would be a great fit for our program.”
Dowe had 130 kills and a 0.331 hitting percentage last season as a middle hitter at Butler, and she added 62 blocks (43 solo) and 17 digs. Butler won 16 matches and went 11-3 in the Southwestern 4A.
“Alli provides a quick, tall presence at the middle blocker position that will work nicely with our offensive system,” Hudson said. “I look for her to come in and contribute right away.”
