HICKORY — Catawba Valley Community College is fielding a women’s softball team for the first time.
The Red Hawks play a doubleheader at Lenoir-Rhyne University on Oct. 4 with a 6 p.m. start and go to Belmont Abbey for a doubleheader the next day.
Josh Bumgarner is CVCC’s head coach and his assistants are Mia Blochavick and Ty Triplett.
