HICKORY – Catawba Valley Community College’s first shot at its 11th win this baseball season will come a day earlier than originally scheduled.

In a press release on Monday, Red Hawks athletic officials said CVCC (10-2) will travel to play Spartanburg Methodist in a doubleheader – two seven-inning games — on Tuesday. The first game will begin at 3 p.m.

The doubleheader was originally scheduled for Wednesday but reset due to a forecast for inclement weather.

CVCC will play a home series on Saturday and Sunday against Louisburg College, two seven-inning games on Saturday with a 1 p.m. start at the Legion Fairgrounds Field in Newton and a nine-inning game on Sunday at noon.
