NEWTON – Hickory Post 48’s American Legion baseball season begins Friday at home against Cherryville.
Post 48’s head coach is again Cameron Beard, a former Hickory player in Legion who also starred in baseball at Bunker Hill High.
Friday’s season-opener is at 7 p.m. at Henkel-Alley Field at the Legion Fairgrounds. All of Post 48’s home games will be at the Fairgrounds.
Hickory’s first four games are all in Catawba County. After the Cherryville game, Post 48 faces Randolph in a doubleheader on Sunday at 2 p.m., Maiden at 7 p.m. on Monday. The first road game is Thursday at Maiden at 7 p.m. at Maiden High.
