HICKORY – Nicole Hunt’s goal with 30 seconds left in overtime Saturday lifted visiting Catawba to a 12-11 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne University in women’s lacrosse.
The same teams will meet Tuesday in Salisbury in a quarterfinal of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) tournament.
The Bears are 10-7 overall and finished 5-3 in the conference and Catawba is 13-4 overall and also finished 5-3 in the league.
LRU had a 7-5 lead at halftime of Saturday’s Senior Day match at Moretz Stadium.
Katie Barth’s four goals led the Indians and Alyssa Sack, Gabby Sousa and Torrey Schwitkis each scored three goals for LRU.
