MEN’S COLLEGE SWIMMING: Queen, McRea lead Bears to 2-0 start

HICKORY – Lenoir-Rhyne University’s men improved to 2-0 on Friday night in swimming by beating visiting Mars Hill 146-115.

The meet was the home opener for the Bears, who were led by sophomore Jacob Queen. He won the 100-yard breastroke in 58.20 seconds, the 200-yard breastroke in 2:08.55 and the 400-yard individual medley in 4:12.

LRU senior Noah McRea won the 200-yard backstroke in 1:57.77 and the 500-yards freestyle in 4:52.74.

McRea and Queen were also on LRU’s winning 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:27.74).

The Bears’ next meet is against Catawba, Georgia Southern and Wingate at Emory University in Atlanta on Nov. 4.
