NW 3A-4A GIRLS SOCCER: League leader Hickory shuts out Patton

MORGANTON – First-place Hickory High stayed there in Northwestern 3A-4A girls’ soccer with a 4-0 road victory over Patton on Thursday night.

Ayden Vaughan, Elizabeth Betancourt, Jess LaFrancis and Amanda Rojo each scored for the Red Tornadoes, who improved to 14-2 overall and 8-1-0 in the conference.

Pammy Fish had two assists for Hickory, two games up on second-place Foard, and Caroline Moore and Betancourt each added an assist.

Morgan Malikowski was in goal for the Red Tornadoes.

The match was a makeup after twice being postponed by weather. It was originally set for March 31 and then for April 5 but was again delayed.

Patton dropped to 0-9-0 in the Northwestern 3A-4A, which plays at 14-game schedule.
