DEAL
PENSACOLA, Fla. — Former Bandys High star Hayden Deal picked up his third win of the season and 23rd as a pro on Thursday night.
Deal, a left-hander, pitched two innings — the fifth and sixth — in an 8-5 road victory over Pensacola (Fla.), leaving him 3-2 this season with an ERA of 3.62 in 24 games.

He entered the Double A game with the Braves ahead 7-1 and allowed one hit, walked one and struck out two. He has 45 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings this season, when he has transitioned to coming out of the bullpen.
Deal threw strikes on 19 of his 30 pitches, facing eight batters in 85-degree weather before a crowd of 4,456.
The Braves (45-48) continue the series in Pensacola on Friday.
Deal is now 23-17 in minor league baseball with an ERA of 3.19 and 325 strikeouts in 366 2/3 innings.
He was a starting pitcher in college at Presbyterian and signed by the Braves to a free agent contract after being invited to throw pitches for a Braves scout at the Bandys High field.
