ICARD – Burns High snapped a three-game losing streak on Wednesday night with a 7-2 road victory over East Burke in South Mountain Athletic 2A-3A baseball.
The Bulldogs (6-9, 6-6) had previously won only two of their last 10 games, and they extended East Burke’s losing streak to three games.
The SMAC 2A-3A teams play a 16-game league schedule and Burns is in sixth place, sitting a game back of Draughn and Kings Mountain and 1 ½ games behind third-place Crest.
East Rutherford and R-S Central, idle on Wednesday, share the conference lead with 9-2 marks.
Burns is next scheduled to play in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) tournament that begins Monday at Shelby (pairngs TBA).
East Burke has a home league game on Thursday at 7 p.m. against Draughn before playing in next week’s Causby Classic at Patton. The Cavs’ opener on Monday is against Patton at a time to be announced.
