LENOIR – Patricia Summers’ hat trick led Hibriten High to a 4-0 home girls’ soccer victory over Freedom on Wednesday night in a Northwestern 3A-4A match.
Allison Herrera scored the other goal for Hibriten, which improved to 5-2-2 in league play to sit in fourth place, a half-game back of Watauga in the conference race led by Hickory.
The Panthers’ Rachel Easton had one save and recored a shutout in goal.
Hibriten outshot Freedom 26-2 and had a 14-1 edge in corner kicks.
Freedom fell to 5-10-0 overall and 1-9-0 in the conference and is in sixth place.
Hibriten has a makeup conference match on Thursday at 6 p.m. at home against South Caldwell.
The next match for Freedom is April 25 at 6 p.m., facing St. Stephens in a league match at the Catawba River Soccer Complex.
