STATESVILLE – A North Piedmont 3A-4A high school baseball game suspended in the first inning on Thursday will resume on Friday at a time to be announced.
Alexander Central officials said their baseball team was ahead 11-0 in the first inning of a road game at West Iredell before it was halted.
The Cougars entered the game at 10-3 in the conference and in second place with an opportunity to potentially share the league title with Lake Norman. That changed on Thursday when Lake Norman closed out the title by beating North Lincoln 8-2 to improve to 12-2 in conference games.
