Zach Jarrett hit his second home run of the season on Tuesday night, a two-run shot in the fifth inning, to lead Norfolk (Va.) to a 4-3 win over host Jacksonville (Fla.).

Jarrett hit No. 8 in the order while starting in centerfield and went 1-for-3. His home run was the 29th of his pro career.

The fifth-inning  home run gave the Tides a 2-1 lead.

The series with Jacksonville continues on Wednesday night.

Triple-A Norfolk is 11-18.

Jarrett, a prep star at Hickory High and in college at Charlotte, is hitting .307 this season with two home runs and 13 RBIs. He is a career .268 hitter and a 28th-round draft pick in 2017 by the Baltimore Orioles.
