Wide receiver Sage Surratt, who played high school football for East Lincoln and Lincolnton, was named on Tuesday a the ACC’s Rookie of the Week in football.
Surratt, a Wake Forest freshman, had 11 catches for 150 yards as the Deacons (1-0) beat Tulane 23-17 in overtime on the road.
He played his senior year of high school football at Lincolnton.
Wake Forest plays Saturday at noon against Towson, the first of five straight home games at BB&T Field.
