The Hickory, Patton and St. Stephens boys and the St. Stephens girls are in the state high school lacrosse playoffs.
The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) has the boys classified as 1A/2A/3A and 4A and the girls’ bracket is open classification.
One of the 4A boys’ teams from area leagues, Mooresville, has already been eliminated as a No. 13 seed, falling 9-6 to No. 8 East Forsyth.
St. Stephens’ boys are a No. 3 seed in the 1A/2A/3A bracket have a first-round bye before playing host to No. 7 Western Guilford or No. 9 Patton on Tuesday.
Hickory’s boys are the No. 11 seed in the 1A/2A/3A and travel Friday to play No. 4 Northern Guilford at 7 p.m.
In the 4A boys’ bracket on Friday, No. 12 Myers Park or No. 17 Southeast Guilford plays at No. 4 Lake Norman and No. 14 Southwest Guilford visits No. 7 Watauga.
The Hickory girls are a No. 9 seed and play at No. 8 Chapel Hill on Friday at 5:30 p.m., while No. 2 seed Lake Norman is at home against No. 18 Marvin Ridge.
