ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Abbey Hartsell finished third individually, sparking Lenoir-Rhyne University’s women to third place in the Flagler Fall Slam that finished on Tuesday afternoon.
Hartsell, a senior who starred in goal at Alexander Central High, finished at 145. She led after the opening round and closed the Bears’ fall schedule strong after having won the Patsy Rendleman Invitational for three straight top 10 finishes.
LRU’s Megan Robb finished at 148, moving from 18th on the leaderboard to eight after a second round of 72.
Ainee O’Connor of the Bears tied for 23th (180) while Patricia Asensio (156) tied for 51st and Chelsea Mansel (164) shared 73rd.
Limestone College was team champion (587).
Mindi Puangcharoen of Wingate made a par on the first playoff hole to win medalist honors over Reme Cortes of Limestone.
The Bears are now off until the Barton Invitational in February.
