HIGH SCHOOLS: Carolina Panthers will honor 2 athletes from Hickory

HICKORY — Hickory High student-athletes Olivia Pisel and Sebastian Parrish, both seniors, will be introduced during the Carolina Panthers’ home game on Dec. 1 at Bank of American Stadium.

They received their invitation from Panthers head coach Ron Rivera as recipients of a 2019 Carolina Panthers Community Captain Award program, a press release from the Hickory Public Schools said.

As part of the program, a $500 donation for each student-athlete will be contributed to the athletic department at HHS.

Pisel and Parrish are both interested in studying law in college. Parrish is interested in sports law and Pisel is interested in criminal law.

Pisel is considering attending North Carolina or N.C. State and Parrish is considering attending Wingate or Lenoir-Rhyne.

Pisel played four seasons of volleyball at HHS and Parrish played football and lacrosse. He hopes to play lacrosse in college.

Carolina plays the Washington Redskins in an afternoon game on Dec. 1.
