CLINTON, N.C – Catawba Valley Community College’s women won a share of the Region X basketball title when Clinton Community College beat Bryant & Stratton on Thursday night.

The Red Hawks (23-5, 17-3) tied Cape Fear Community College and Bryant & Stratton for the regular season title.
The Region X tournament, with pairings to be announced, begins Thursday at Louisburg College and continues through Saturday.
CVCC, ranked No. 19 in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) poll, fell in its regular season finale, 70-65 on the road on Wednesday night at Clinton.
Sherry Johnson led the Red Hawks with 18 points with Zharia Brown and Milequa Easton adding 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Clinton (8-15, 8-11) had a 15-10 lead after one quarter and led 30-22 at the half.
