HICKORY – Eli Matthews of Fred T. Foard and teammate Dawson Place are co-champions in singles from the 3A portion of the Northwestern 3A-4A conference tournament completed on Wednesday.
Matthew and Place shared the title by a draw after Matthews beat Place in the first set 6-6 (7-5) and Place won the second set 6-3.
In doubles, Edgar Ellis and Josh Arditti of Hickory won 6-0, 6-0 over Holden Aldridge and Jared Schubring of Fred T. Foard for the 3A tournament title.
