NEWTON – Fred T. Foard High has announced its scheduled athletic events against South Caldwell on Tuesday in girls’ sports have been postponed.
The Tigers were scheduled to play host to the Spartans in Northwestern 3A-4A softball and girls’ soccer.
South Caldwell will visit Fred T. Foard in softball on Friday at 6 p.m. (or as soon as the junior varsity game ends).
The Spartans’ girls’ soccer team goes to Foard on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. match.
South Caldwell, 11-0 in the league in softball, can clinch an outright conference championship by beating the Tigers (9-3), who are the only remaining team in the Northwestern 3A-4A that could win out and share the title.
In girls’ soccer, South Caldwell is 6-4-0 in the conference and in fourth place, with Foard (7-3-0) in second place behind league-leading Hickory.
Foard athletic officials also said they’ll make a decision about Tuesday’s South Caldwell at Fred T. Foard baseball game by early afternoon.
