Patton has won six straight to sit a win away from the first nine-win season – and league title – in its ninth season of varsity football. The school opened in 2007 and played one season of junior varsity-only football.

After going 8-5 last season and tying for third place in the Northwestern 3A-4A, Patton is headed to the state 2A playoffs. It’s the Wildcats’ third straight postseason bid and fifth in school history.

Causby, who moved to quarterback in the second game of the season after returning starter Joe Eakin had a season-ending injury, led an offense Friday night that averaged 15.8 yards per carry.

The game reached the mandatory running clock mercy-rule early in the second half after Causby threw a 36-yard TD pass to Epps.

Epps also had two rushing TDs, finishing with nearly 80 yards on four carries as Patton ran for more than 400.

Lytle ran for a career-best 181 yards on fewer than 10 carries. He moved into the starting lineup recently after running back William Brawley was injured. He scored three TDs against Bunker Hill.

Patton’s defense scored on a block punt return, helping head coach Tom Eanes grab career win No. 147.

Bunker Hill’s season ended with the loss. The Bears close at 1-10, 1-5 and with 10 or more losses for the sixth time in school history. They are 2-20 in two seasons under head coach David Haynie.
