ROCK HILL, S.C. – Ryan Crompton of Lenoir-Rhyne University picked up his third South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Defensive Player of the Week in men’s lacrosse on Monday.

League officials announced Crompton, a junior from Fredick, Md., won the award again after having 12 saves in the Bears’ 12-7 victory on Saturday over Lincoln Memorial on the road. That win clinched at least a share of the SAC regular-season title for LRU.

Crompton has won 10 of 11 matches and ranks second in save percentage (59.2), fourth in goals-against average (8.67) and fifth in total saves (125) in the current conference rankings.

The Bears also moved up in the USILA/NIKE NCAA Division II poll, sitting now at No. 4 with 11 straight wins and 22 in their last 23 matches dating back to last season.

LRU’s Senior Day is Saturday and the Bears have a 1 p.m. league match against Catawba at Moretz Stadium.
