STATESVILLE – An early five-run lead was enough for West Iredell High to down Statesville 5-2 on the road on Thursday night, snapping a nine-game losing streak.
The Warriors (4-14, 1-11 North Piedmont 3A-4A) are now tied with the Greyhounds (3-15, 1-11) for seventh place.
Statesville has lost eight straight games after picking up its only win of the season – 4-1 over West Iredell on the road – on March 21.
The Greyhounds have a home non-league game Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. against Forbush.
