JARRETT
Zach Jarrett was back in the lineup on Friday night for Norfolk (Va.), going 0-for-2 as visiting Durham edged the Tides 8-2 in a Triple-A game.
After having a night off on Thursday, Jarrett batted eighth for the Tides on Friday night. He grounded into a double play and left four runners stranded as his batting average dipped to .243.
The series continues Saturday and Sunday in Norfolk, where Friday night’s game drew a crowd of 5,023.
The Tides fell to 29-45, and they are in sixth place in the Triple-A East Southeast Division, 21 games back of Durham.

Jarrett has been in Triple-A since a promotion from Double-A Bowie (Md.) on May 19, and he has twice been assigned to the Baltimore Orioles during his career (March 2019 and February 2020).
He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2017 and taken in the 28th round.
The Tides will return to Charlotte for a six-game series from Aug. 17-22.
