Former Hickory High star Zach Jarrett was not in the lineup on Friday night for the Bowie Baysox.
Altoona (Pa.) nipped Bowie 5-4 in 10 innings, handing the Baysox (3-1) their first loss of the Double-A season.
Bowie shares second place with Erie (Pa.), each a half-game back of Akron (Ohio).
On Thursday night, Jarrett batted No. 7 in the Baysox batting order and went 0-for-4. Bowie won 8-4.
The series continues Saturday night in Altoona.
Jarrett, the son of NASCAR champion driver Dale Jarrett, is in his fourth on-field pro season (there were no minor league games in 2020).
