TAYLORSVILLE – Alexander Central High’s third-round state 4A girls’ softball game is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., school officials said Monday.
The top-seeded Cougars (25-3) face No. 5 Southwest Guilford (21-3) with a spot opposite No. 3 North Davidson (23-5) or No. 7 South Caldwell (21-6) on the line.
Admission for Tuesday’s game is $6 and the only passes accepted will be those from the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA), the North Carolina Coaches Association (NCCA) and Senior Tar Heel passes.
Alexander Central has beaten No. 32 Winston-Salem Glenn 10-2 and No. 17 Southeast Guilford 5-3 to advance.
Southwest Guilford’s first two postseason results were 8-0 over No. 25 Ardrey Kell and 8-1 over No. 23 West Forsyth.
If it wins, Alexander Central will be at home in the fourth round (must be played by Friday).
The regional rounds are May 23-27 and the state championship series are scheduled June 2-3.
