HARROGATE, Tenn. – Rachel Griffith’s 23 points led Lincoln Memorial past visiting Lenoir-Rhyne University on Saturday, 73-62, in a South Atlantic Conference (SAC) women’s basketball game.
Lincoln Memorial (10-6, 6-3) overcame a 25-point game by Bears senior Kendall Toineeta to win, dropping the Bears to 9-8 overall and 4-5 in the conference.
Three players – Toineeta, Madi Suddreth and Kennedy Weigt – combined for 52 of LRU’s points.
Lincoln Memorial hit 22 of 36 free throws in the win, while LRU made 13 of 15 to shoot higher than 85 percent at the line for the ninth time this season.
The Railsplitters shot 39 percent and the Bears shot 33 percent from the field.
The Bears fell to 5-4 on the road this season.
LRU’s next game is at home on Wednesday at 6 p.m., an SAC battle with Catawba.
