Bandys (12-1) will play at No. 1 Hibriten (13-0) next Friday in a third-round game at 7:30 p.m., a rematch of a first-round postseason game at Hibriten won last year 56-7 by the Panthers…Howard broke the single-season rushing record with a gain of 75 yards on his ninth carry of the game, passing the 2,093 yards by Chris Douglas in 1998… Howard’s official rushing statistics are gleaned from game film by the Bandys coaching staff; his unofficial totals for Friday’s game are 22 carries for 230 yards… His current career totals, unofficially – 619 carries for 4,450 yards in 47 games and, for this season, 269 carries for 2,215 yards… Howard has 23 career games of 100 or more yards rushing, 10 of them coming this season… Bandys improved to 22-4 in postseason games in Garry Butler Memorial Stadium and 36-23 in state playoff games… The Trojans beat the Wildcats for the second time in a postseason game with the previous win coming in 2004 (37-0, first round, Bandys eventually lost in semifinals to Charlotte Catholic).
