BALTIMORE – Hunter Harvey’s stay in the major leagues lasted two days, ending Wednesday when the Baltimore Orioles called up an infielder from the minor leagues.
The Orioles optioned Harvey — a former star right-hander at Bandys High and son of former major league reliever Bryan Harvey – back to Class AA Bowie (Md.).
Bowie is about a 40-minute drive from Baltimore.
Harvey, 23, is expected to be in Bowie’s starting rotation.
Harvey was added to the major league roster on Monday after the Orioles had faced two extra- inning games the week before. He arrived Monday and did not get into that night’s game, which Toronto won 7-1, and he did not pitch in Tuesday night’s game won 2-1 by the Blue Jays.
Baltimore played Toronto again on Wednesday night.
