NEWTON – Fred T. Foard High junior running back Corey Siemer is the WNNC Oldies 101.3 FM Coca-Cola Golden Helmet Award winner for Week 5 of the football season.

Siemer ran 24 times for 249 yards and for 100 yards for the third time this season last Wednesday night as Fred T. Foard (1-4) picked up its first win of the season, downing visiting St. Stephens 38-22.

The game was played two days early due to weather associated with Hurricane Florence.

Siemer scored four touchdowns in the victory, and he is averaging more than eight yards per carry for the Tigers, who open Northwestern Foothills 2A play on Friday night at home (7:30 p.m.) against Patton.
