ELGIN, S.C. – After one round of the NCAA Division II South Super Regional, Abbey Hartsell of Lenoir-Rhyne University is tied for eighth on the leaderboard after her 5-over par 77 on Monday.
Hartsell, a sophomore who starred in high school at Alexander Central, shares eighth place with five other golfers heading into Tuesday’s second round at The Members Club at Woodcreek.
Charlotte Puts of Barry is the leader after a 1-over 73 in the opening round. She is up one stroke on Lynn’s Krissy Ortiz.
Barry is leading the team standings after shooting 308 on Monday on the par-72, 6,114-yard course.
Hartsell tees off at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
The tournament’s final round is Wednesday.
