Crest and East Rutherford are tied for second place behind Kings Mountain, which is unbeaten in league play.
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Crest High nipped visiting East Burke 3-1 on Thursday night in South Mountain Athletic 2A-3A girls’ soccer to remain tied for second place.
The Chargers improved to 10-1-2 in the conference, which plays a 14-game schedule, and is still tied with East Rutherford after it won 10-1 on Thursday at Draughn.
Kings Mountain is leading the conference at 14-0-0.
Arianna Hawkins had nine saves in goal for East Burke against Crest.
Crest is scheduled to play at East Rutherford at 6 p.m. on Friday, and the league schedule extends into next week.
East Burke, 5-6-2 and in fifth place, is scheduled to face R-S Central in Icard on Friday at 6 p.m.
