FOREST CITY – Crest High ran its win streak to seven and knocked host East Rutherford out of a first-place tie with a 7-2 victory on Friday night in South Mountain Athletic 2A-3A baseball.
The Chargers (13-6, 10-4) pulled within a game of second-place East Rutherford (16-5, 11-3), which trails R-S Central (19-3, 12-2) by a game with two left in the league’s regular season.
Crest plays Burns at Crest on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and then at Shelby at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
East Rutherford faces R-S Central on the road Tuesday at 7 p.m. and is at home Thursday at 7 p.m. against Chase.
