Crawdads will finish Thursday’s game on Friday with a 5:30 p.m., then play Columbia, S.C., in a regulary scheduled game as well.
HICKORY – Tim Tebow’s first night against the Hickory Crawdads featured rain, lots of fog and finally a South Atlantic League game that was stopped.
Thursday night’s game at L.P. Frans Stadium, which drew 4,225 fans, was suspended in the eighth inning with Hickory leading Columbia (S.C.) 8-7.
The game will be completed on Friday, with a 5:30 p.m., start and a regularly scheduled Friday game will follow.
Columbia is also playing the Crawdads at Frans on Saturday and Sunday, and there’s been intense interest in Tebow. He’s a former college football star quarterback and NFL quarterback trying baseball for the first time since his high school days.
