ROCK HILL, S.C. – Four goals and an assist by Eric Dickinson of Lenoir-Rhyne University in a key match netted him selection as the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Offensive Player of the Week in men’s lacrosse.

Dickinson, a freshman midfielder from Charlotte, won the league award for the second time this season, SAC officials announced Monday.

He had a big match in the Bears’ season finale last Saturday, scoring twice in a pivotal fourth period, as LRU won 14-13 over Catawba to wrap up a conference championship.

Dickerson leads the league in goals scored (47) and total points (64) – both school single-season records – in addition to 17 assists, 34 ground balls and seven game-winning scores.

LRU (12-1) is ranked No. 5 in the nation in NCAA Division II and is the top seed for the SAC tournament that begins on Thursday.

The Bears’ first tournament matchup comes Thursday at 4 p.m. against the Queens-Catawba winner.
