BASEBALL: Landis’ 2-hitter sparks Maiden’s win in Mingo Bay Classic

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Senior Dyan Landis threw a complete game two-hitter on Tuesday as Maiden High beat Watertown, N.Y., 2-0 in the Blue Devils’ opening game at the Mingo Bay Classic.

J.R. McRee and Caden O’brien each had two hits and drove in one run each as the Blue Devils (9-7) posted their fourth straight victory.

Landis threw 107 pitches in the win, walking four and striking out four.

Maiden had seven hits and scored both of its runs in the sixth inning.

The Blue Devils face Bishop Grimes, N.Y., today at 10 a.m. at Socastee, S.C., High.
