HICKORY – Lenoir-Rhyne University’s first home game of the season has been moved from Saturday to Thursday at 2 p.m. in Moretz Stadium.

In a press release on Wednesday, LRU athletic officials said the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) game against Mars Hill will move up from its original 6 p.m. kickoff scheduled on Saturday.

The change is due to anticipated bad weather associated with Hurricane Florence approaching the coast of North Carolina.

The game will be the home debut for new head coach Drew Cronic.

LRU is 1-1 and Mars Hill is 0-2.

The scheduled promotions of fireworks on “Neill McGeachy Night” will be moved to Sept. 29, a 6 p.m. home game against Tusculum.
