Lake Norman Charter High continues to rule in South Fork 2A boys’ golf, winning a conference match on Monday at Glen Oaks in Maiden behind four players finishing in the top 10.
The Knights shot 311, finishing well ahead of East Lincoln (329), as Jace Arko shared medalist with East Lincoln’s Lance Rowe with a round of 75.
Carter Busse added a 76 for Lake Norman Charter, tying for third, and Ian Johnson (80) and Ben Bailey (80) of the Knights were part of a three-way tie for sixth place.
The South Fork 2A has an 18-hole match on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Cowan’s Ford and two nine-hole matches to go – April 11 at Deer Brook and April 29 at the Catawba Country Club.

Draughn wins by 33 at River Oaks
Draughn shot a 323 at River Oaks on Monday, winning a Northwestern Foothills 2A match by 10 strokes over second-place Patton.
East Burke’s Sam Mace was medalist with a round of 74.
Ben Leonard and Zeke Sigmon had 77s to lead Draughn while Nash Benson’s 80 sparked Patton.
The Northwestern Foothills 2A has a match at River Oaks on April 15.

Led by Noah Bumgarner’s 77 and Matthew Gurnsey’s 78, West Caldwell won a Northwestern 3A-4A match at Brushy Mountain to continue leading the conference race.
The Warriors finished at 325 with Alexander Central in second at 332.
Jared Clonz of Freedom and Eli Wyatt of Hickory shared medalist with rounds of 76.
West Caldwell has a 77-stroke lead (1,281-1,358) over Alexander Central and Hickory is 13 strokes back of the Cougars.
The remaining Northwestern 3A-4A schedule has a match on Wednesday (18 holes) at Marion Lake, an 18-hole match on April 15 at Silver Creek and 18 holes at Boone on April 29.

Landon Evans had two hits, drove in four runs and was the winning pitcher as the Vikings won a non-league game on Monday at home.
Evans pitched six innings, allowing two hits, and struck out four as South Iredell dropped the Panthers to 9-4 overall by snapping their three-game win streak.
The Vikings scored two runs in the first inning two in the third inning and six in the sixth inning.
South Iredell had seven hits.
Jack Fortin scored three runs and Garrett Page scored two for South Iredell (7-6).
Hibriten — tied for first place in the Northwestern Foothills 2A with Fred T. Foard — is at home Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a league game against Patton.
Alexander Central 3, North Davidson 2 (Saturday)
The Cougars scored two runs in the seventh inning to win a non-conference game in Welcome.
Jacob Bebber had two hits and drove in two runs and Bryson Younts had a hit and an RBI for Alexander Central, which had six hits.
Wesley Stewart had two hits for North Davidson, which had three, and Jake Carver had an RBI.
Reliever Jeremy Simpson collected a win for the Cougars, allowing one hit over 1 1/13 innings and striking out one.
Alexander Central starter Maddox Kerley went 5 2/3 innings. He gave up two hits, two runs (one earned), walked six and struck out eight.
Jonathan Conway, pitching in relief, took the loss for the Knights. He allowed four hits, two runs (both earned), walked one and struck out three over two innings.
Alexander Central plays a Northwestern 3A-4A game in Boone on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. against Watauga.
Watauga shares first place with South Caldwell and the Cougars are one game back.
McDowell 11, St. Stephens 10 (Friday)
Ethan Davis and Three Young each drove in two runs, and the visiting Titans were helped by five Indians errors in a Northwestern 3A-4A game.
Young had three hits and Davis and Josh Maddux added two each for McDowell (6-7, 2-6).
Owen VanSickle led the Indians (4-8, 2-6) with three of their 12 hits. He scored twice, doubled and drove in two runs while Will Rose had two hits and drove in three runs and J.D. Everett had two hits and two RBIs.
Juan Campos, the Titans’ starter, picked up a win after going 3 2/3 innings. He allowed four hits, seven runs (all earned) with six walks and five strikeouts.
Jake Speak started and took a loss for St. Stephens. He went 1 1/3 innings, allowing eight hits, eight runs (seven earned) with one walk and two strikeouts.
McDowell led 5-1 after one inning and 8-5 after two innings.
After McDowell scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning, the Indians scored three to make it 10-8.
McDowell’s run in the top of the sixth made it 11-8 and the Indians got two runs in the bottom of the inning but dropped to 1-4 in one-run games this season.
The Titans go to South Caldwell on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for a league game, and the Indians will be at Hickory on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a conference battle.
Hickory 14, Freedom 7 (Friday)
Bryce Stober and Zach Smith each had three hits as the Red Tornadoes won a Northwestern 3A-4A game in Morganton.
Macory Mitchell added two hits for Hickory (7-5, 3-4), which won its fourth straight game, and William Stewart was the winning pitcher (five strikeouts).
Tristan Robinson went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Michael Logan was 3-for-3 with two doubles and drove in a run and Dylan Shelton had two hits, one a double, for the Patriots (7-6, 4-4).
Hickory is at home Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a conference game with St. Stephens.
Freedom goes to West Caldwell on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. league game against the Warriors.
South Caldwell 8, Alexander Central 3 (Friday)
Owen Foxx and Ian Moretz hit home runs as the Spartans won a Northwestern 3A-4A game in Taylorsville despite being outhit 7-6.
Moretz, batting fifth in the Spartans’ lineup, went 2-for-3 and drove in five runs. Jarrett Pritchard added two hits and Foxx drove in two runs for South Caldwell.
Easton Rhoney and Bryson Hammer had two hits each for the Cougars and Hammer, Seth Sigmon and Bebber each had an RBI for Alexander Central.
Issac Bush went 6 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits, three runs (all earned) with three walks and eight strikeouts for the Spartans. Foxx got the final two outs.
Alexander Central starter Dawson Elder (2-1) worked 4 2/3 innings. He gave up four hits, seven runs (six earned), walked five and struck out seven.
The Cougars led 1-0 until the Spartans scored twice in the top of the fourth.
South Caldwell scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning to lead 7-1.
The Spartans are at home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., playing McDowell, and the Cougars are in Boone on Tuesday at 6 p.m., playing Watauga.
Watauga 7, West Caldwell 6, 8 inn. (Friday)
Watauga scored five runs in the second inning, opening a 6-0 lead, and nipped the visiting Warriors in a Northwestern 3A-4A game.
Cy Smith had two hits and drove in two runs, Jordan Bowman drove in a run and had three hits and Colby Turnmire provided two hits and two RBIs for West Caldwell (4-8, 1-7).
Bailey O’Brien worked two innings and took a loss for the Warriors, going two innings. He gave up seven hits, six runs (two earned), walked two and struck out two.
Watauga (8-4, 7-1), tied for the league lead with South Caldwell, faces third-place Alexander Central on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Boone.
The Warriors are at home Tuesday at 6 p.m., facing fourth-place Freedom.

South Caldwell 4, Alexander Central 3, 11 inn. (Friday)
Regan Weisner went 4-for-6 and Addison Blair and Kenley Jackson had RBIs as the Spartans nipped the Cougars in a Northwestern 3A-4A game.
Alexander Central (9-4, 5-3) made five errors and matched South Caldwell’s nine hits.
Alexa Rash had two hits for the Cougars and Lanie Goforth, Mattie Starnes and Ashley Seagle each drove in a run for Alexander Central.
Jenna Pittman, pitching in relief, gained a win for the Spartans, 8-0 in the league, after going five innings. She gave up four hits, no runs, walked one and struck out four.
Kara Hinkle took the loss in relief for Alexander Central, 5-3 in league games. She pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing four hits, one run (earned) with three walks and two strikeouts.
South Caldwell led 2-1 after five innings and 3-1 after six innings. The Cougars got two runs in the seventh inning, forcing extra innings.
Both teams left a dozen runner on base, and Goforth hit a home run for Alexander Central.
McDowell visits South Caldwell on Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a league game while the Cougars travel to Watauga for a 6 p.m. conference game in Boone.
GIRLS SOCCER
East Burke 2, Draughn 1
Seniors Jennifer Xiong and Allison Thomas scored goals as the Cavs won a Northwestern Foothills 2A match on Monday at home.
Erin Carico, Brooke Arney, Grace Arney and Alia Casterjon led East Burke defensively.
East Burke improved to 2-4-0 in the league and left the Wildcats at 1-5-0 in league play.
The Cavs and Wildcats are scheduled to play again on Tuesday, a conference match at 6 p.m. at Draughn.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Lake Norman Charter 21, Butler 16
Senior Morgan Bordeaux scored a career-high 13 goals and had two assists as the Knights (4-5) won on the road.
Senior Maddy Hlewicki added four goals and had nine ground balls and sophomore Emma Rhines scored twice and freshman Bryn Shepler added two goals for Lake Norman Charter.
Abby Rollins, a sophomore, made six saves in goal for the Knights, who are at home Wednesday at 5 p.m. against Watauga.
