CLAREMONT – Scoring 42 points in the opening half and with running back McKinley Witherspoon scoring four times in the half, visiting Hibriten High mauled Bunker Hill 49-3 on Friday night in Northwestern Foothills 2A football.
Witherspoon scored on runs of 15, 53, 45 and 25 yards as the Panthers (6-0, 1-0) opened a 28-0 lead.
After Marqwone Jones ran 25 yards for a TD and Aaron Logan also rushed for a score, Hibriten was up 42-0 by the half.
No other details were available on Bunker Hill (0-6, 0-1).
Hibriten, which has outscored opponents 245-33 this season, is idle next Friday before playing a league game on Oct. 6 at home against Fred T. Foard.
Bunker Hill, outscored 256-75 this season, will play next Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Fred T. Foard on the road.
