DEAL
Hayden Deal’s 100th pro game was on Monday when he started for the Mississippi Braves in a home game against Montgomery (Ala.).
Deal, a former pitching star at Bandys High, went one inning in a Double A game the Braves eventually lost 8-6. He allowed two hits, three runs (one earned), walked two and struck out three.
He has primarily been used as a reliever this season. Monday’s start was his third of the season and 45th of his pro career. This season, he is 1-0 with an ERA of 3.00 with 28 strikeouts in 27 innings.

Deal threw strikes on 21 of his 39 pitches to seven batters before a crowd of 4,102.
Signed by the Braves following a short workout with Braves scouts at Bandys, Deal is 21-15 with a career ERA of 3.11. He has drawn attention as a left-hander with 308 strikeouts in 344 innings.
Mississippi (23-23) shares second place in the Southern League’s South Division with Pensacola (Fla.) with Biloxi (Miss.) leading the division at 22-21.
The Braves continue their series with Montgomery on Wednesday night.
