DEAL
The Mississippi Braves aren’t winning — they fell to 1-6 on Friday night with a 7-3 loss at Biloxi (Miss.) — but Hayden Deal is pitching well.

Deal, a former Bandys High star, made his third appearance of the season in the loss loss and pitched two innings, the fourth and the fifth before a crowd of 3,083.
He did not allow a hit or run, struck out two and walked one, facing seven batters and throwing strikes on 20 of his 33 pitches.
The Braves and Biloxi continue their series through the weekend.
Deal, a left-hander, has pitched eight innings in three games this season, allowing two hits, one run (unearned) with seven strikeouts. Opponents are hitting .077 against him.
Friday’s appearance was his 90th as a pro. He is 20-15 with an ERA of 3.05 with 95 walks and 291 strikeouts in 325 career innings. His role has changed for the Braves this year. Previously, he made some starts (44) during his career but he is now a reliever.
